A veteran screening and risk management professional, Jason Morris founded Cleveland, Ohio-based EmployeeScreenIQ in 1999 and served as the company’s President and Chief Operating Officer until November of 2015 when EmployeeScreenIQ was acquired by Sterling Talent Solutions. Morris then served as Sterling Talent Solutions’ SVP of Client Success was a member of Sterling M&A team until October 2017.

Under his leadership, EmployeeScreenIQ become a global leader in employment screening. With over 100 employees when acquired, EmployeeScreenIQ won numerous awards including the prestigious WeatherHead 100 for high growth companies in Northeast Ohio over 6 years in a row. EmployeeScreenIQ is also a founding member of the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS).

As Co-Chairman of NAPBS in 2005-2006, Morris made frequent presentations to government agencies including members of the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. Morris continues to be active in the organization. He has also lobbied on behalf of the screening industry and has consulted with officials from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the US Department of Justice.

Morris frequently serves as an expert witness on the topics of background checks, employment screening, and FCRA. He is also a licensed private investigator in the states of Ohio, Illinois, New Jersey, Texas, Arizona, and Nevada. He has made public testimony on behalf of Transportation Network Companies (TNC’s) in several jurisdictions for Lyft and Uber.

Active in community and philanthropic causes, he is a past president of the American Cancer Society Cuyahoga County Unit Board. In addition, he is a former board member of Big Brothers/Big Sisters Association of Cleveland and Make a Wish Foundation. In 2006, Morris served as the Revenue Chairman for the March of Dimes.

Morris is a criminal justice studies graduate of Kent State University and currently lives in Cleveland, Ohio with his wife and two daughters. He loves live music, fly fishing and enjoying the outdoors with his kids.
